Phone call
“Hey, Charlotte!”
“Hey…”
“Are you okay?”
“Meh. It could be better. How are you?”
“I don’t know…”
“What, what’s up?”
“I don’t know. It’s been so long that we’ve known each other and sometimes, I feel like, we haven’t achieved anything.”
“I know. It’s been more than ten years. But, we’ve made progress, haven’t we?”
“Progress on what?”
“We’ve had a wonderful relationship together, no? Moreover, with everything we’ve done together… We still did something right, no?”
“Yeah. But now that… I mean, you know what I always wanted?”
“Yes, I know what you’re talking about. It cannot be ten years for just nothing, we’re at the dawn of something far, far great. Even, I feel hopeless sometimes, yet… well, you know me certainly better than anyone else. But I know your pain. I’ve got that confidence in that.”
“Sometimes, I’m just feeling like chasing ghosts. I just keep screaming yet no one hears. And it’s frustrating!”
“Listen, I’ve been thinking about a solution too, and… I’ve also been on that problem. I’ve always told you that, we’re in this together.”
“I didn’t say that; I just… well, you know, it is just another tough period after all.”
“Honey, remember what I kept telling you. You are the result of the sum of your past experiences. I know we’ve been living the past ten years of frustration, we tried, and nothing happened. But it doesn’t mean it’s never going to happen. We will make it. No matter what. It couldn’t have just been ten years for nothing.”
“So, what do you think?”
“I’m probably in the same state as you are. But look. Look at all the things we achieved together. So far it was a lengthy journey, but I still believe that the reward at the end will be just awesome, mind-blowing, the outcome we sought all this time, something huge will happen.”
